Takoma Park Maryland Library and Teatro la Bolsa, a Latin American theater company, will host Compañeras de Viaje: Dancing through Latin America April 30 at 1:30 p.m. on the library’s front lawn.
The event will feature Melissa Strova-Valencia and Karen Morales-Chacana performing folkloric dances from Latin America, including interactive and bilingual performances. No registration is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket, scarf and a plush toy to play with. The program is partially sponsored by a grant from REFORMA, according to the Takoma Park website. The event is in celebration of both Children’s Day and Book Day 2022.
