Franc Mba, 21, of Takoma Park, was arrested Wednesday and charged with larceny.
Police responded to the Walgreens in the 1300 block of University Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. for a larceny in progress. When they arrived, the suspect already had fled. Police canvassed the area and found Mba in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue.
He was arrested for a theft that was less than $1,500 and later released on his own recognizance.
His trial date is set for July 24 at Montgomery County District Court in Silver Spring.
