Takoma Park Officer Completes Tour De Force 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride

Takoma Park Police Officer Mark Elfadl cycled 225 miles in the 2024 Tour de Force 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride and raised more than $2,500 for families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

Elfadl rode 65 miles the first day. That ride included 587 feet of elevation. On the second day, he rode 76.5 miles with a 797 elevation. On his third day, Elfadl cycled 71.5 miles with 646 feet of elevation. On his final day, he wrote 42 miles with 436 feet of elevation, according to the police department.

The ride was held Sept. 5 through Sept. 10 and began in Ocean City, Maryland. Each day’s ride began in Ocean City and went into Delaware, using different loops and heading through dozens of towns including Rehoboth, Lewes, Dewey, Fenwick and Bethany.

“We are incredibly proud of Officer Elfadl’s determination and dedication,” his fellow officers said in a news release.
