The Takoma Park Police Department is collecting essentials for animal shelters throughout Montgomery County. Donations are accepted until March 4 and can be dropped off at the police headquarters lobby at 7500 Maple Ave.
The drive is accepting new and gently used bath and beach towels, hand towels, wash cloths, blankets, and other necessary items. Shelters will not accept fitted sheets, items with snaps or zippers, or fabric that is ripped or has frayed edges.
