Applications are now open for the 2023-2024 Takoma Park Youth Council.
Members of the Youth Council work with the Takoma Park City Council to serve the city’s younger population.
Takoma Park residents in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to apply. Up to 11 applicants will be selected to serve on the Youth Council for a one-year term.
The Youth Council provides young Takoma Park residents and aspiring politicians with an opportunity to learn about and actively participate in local government. Members are expected to maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average and set an example for their peers.
Members receive Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for their work and time spent in Youth Council meetings.
