Takoma Park Police arrested Jose Miguel Gonzalez, 33, for larceny and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
Police were in the area of Walgreens in the 1300 block of University Boulevard Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. when they were alerted to a shoplifting incident.
According to police, the suspect exited Walgreens and fled on foot. He was apprehended by police detectives, who then searched Gonzalez, of New Carrollton, and found cocaine in an amount large enough to be sold.
He was charged and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
