Taste of Wheaton returned Sunday after a two-year hiatus from the pandemic. The event took place at the Marian Fryer Plaza in Downtown Wheaton. The food festival featured local restaurants, music and dance performances, and kids’ rides and activities.
Kit Wood, co-founder of featured restaurant Green Plate Catering, says it’s a good time to showcase food to the community. “It’s an opportunity for the local restaurants to put our food out, to let people have a taste and see what we are doing,” Wood told myMCM.
Sidney Cooper, Marketing and Events manager of the Wheaton Urban District, took several months to plan the event. She told MyMCM that the best part about Taste of Wheaton is everyone coming together to have a good time. “Having good food, listening to music, kids are having fun, really just people enjoying themselves is really what it’s about to me,” Cooper said.
