A 15-year-old Montgomery County student was arrested in connection with a bomb threat at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda June 7.

The Montgomery County Department of Police Behavioral Assessment and Administrative Unit identified the student as a suspect. That student has been charged with threats of mass violence and disrupting school operations.

As a result of the bomb threat, staff and students were evacuated while police searched the premises. They did not locate a threat.

Because of the suspect’s age, the matter will be processed through the Department of Juvenile Services.
