Montgomery County Police identified the victim in Thursday night’s shooting at the Wheaton Metro station.
Tenneson Vaughn Leslie, Jr. of Greenbelt, died in an area hospital after being shot on the train platform.
According to police, Leslie Jr. was with a group of people inside the station when an altercation arose between them and a group of other males on the escalator.
Leslie, Jr. was shot on the train platform, and the suspects ran from the scene.
County and Metro Transit Police searched the area but have not taken anyone into custody as of Friday at 2:30 p.m.

An 18-year-old male was fatally shot Thursday evening at the Wheaton Metro station train platform, according to Montgomery County Police, who ruled the incident a homicide.
At about 6 p.m., police arrived at the metro and learned there was an altercation on the escalator. The dispute escalated and the teenager was shot, police said. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
No one is in custody, and the station was closed during the investigation. It has reopened.
