Two teenagers were arrested in connection with two armed carjackings in Silver Spring.
Kelvin Lovell Hager,18, and a 14-year-year old male whose name was not released because he is a juvenile were charged for allegedly committing a carjacking on Feb. 18 at 10 p.m. in the 500 block of Thayer Avenue.
According to Montgomery County Police, at 10:30 p.m. that same night, officers investigated a second armed carjacking at the nearby 8700 block of Cameron Street.
During an investigation, police officers identified a 14-year-old as one of the suspects in the first carjacking. He was arrested, charged and released to the custody of his parent or guardian.
Police detectives later identified Hager as a suspect in that same carjacking. On May 5 an arrest warrant was obtained. At the time of the warrant, Hager was in jail in Washington, D.C. on unrelated charges.
Hager waived his extradition rights on July 29 and was transported to Montgomery County.
Both males were later charged in the Cameron Street carjackings.
Hager is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit in Potomac.
