It was a very good night for the Terps at the WNBA Draft in New York.
Maryland senior Diamond Miller was the second overall pick going to the Minnesota Lynx.
Nine picks later, Miller’s teammate and Walt Whitman High School alum Abby Meyers was taken 11th overall by the Dallas Wings.
The all-time leader scorer in Whitman history, Meyers transferred back home to Maryland to play her final year of college basketball after three award-laden years at Princeton including Ivy League Player of the Year in 2022.
The Potomac native was an All-Big Ten 2nd Team honoree this past season, finishing second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per contest, to go along with 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
