Thursday morning the Maryland Department of Health reported 107 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. That brings the cumulative case count to 21,574 since the start of the pandemic.
The county had a rolling seven-day average of 2.87% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a lower rate than 13 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.
Montgomery County has led the state in coronavirus-related fatalities, adding one more on Thursday for a pandemic total of 796. Prince George’s County death toll increased by three Thursday for a total of 794. Prince George’s County leads the state in cases with more than 28,000 cumulative cases.
The state recorded 631 new infections Thursday, bringing its total to 118,519. Five new deaths were reported Thursday, making the pandemic death toll 3,717.
