For the first time since 2015, Maryland is Elite 8 bound. The Terps beat Notre Dame 76-59 behind 18 points apiece from Diamond Miller and Shyanne Sellers in Greenville, SC. Miller and Sellers scored 30 of their 36 points in the second half. Walt Whitman High School alum Abby Meyers added 11 points.
The Terps (28-6) trailed by as many as eight points in the first half then dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Irish 26-13 including a 17-1 run.
Maryland will play the best team in the country and defending NCAA champion South Carolina (35-0) Monday at 7 p.m. in Greenville, SC. The winner of that game advances to the Final Four in Dallas next weekend.
