Thousands of people turned out at more than 30 National Night Out events throughout Montgomery County Tuesday night.
They spoke with police and fire fighters, climbed into fire trucks and ambulances, ate, played games, won prizes, listened to music and generally had a great night celebrating the national community-building campaign designed to promote promotes police-community partnerships.
County Executive Marc Elrich stopped off at six of the events. While at Fair Hill Shopping Center in Olney, he declared it was the largest crowd he’d been with since the start of COVID.
“This is how we come together, work together,” declared Councilmember Will Jawando.
County Police Chief Marcus Jones visited four events and connected with many residents.
