Tiafoe Passes on Paris, Will Play at Citi Open in DC

The Mubadala City DC Open returns to the Fitzgerald Tennis Center at 16th and Kennedy in Washington D.C. July 27-Augusts 4.

This year, some players, like defending champ Coco Gauff, will not be playing in D.C. because they’ll be participating in the Paris Olympics. Local favorite Frances Tiafoe turned down an opportunity to play in Paris so he could play in his hometown tournament and get ready for the U.S. Open, which like the Citi Open, is contested on hard courts.

Others in the field this year include Grigor Dimitrov, Karen Khachanov, Ons Jabeur and Madison Keys.
