Former Farquhar Middle School Principal Joel Beidleman remains on administrative leave following an investigation by Washington Post reporters concerning numerous complaints of sexual harassment filed against him.
Beidelman was a principal at Farquhar Middle School when school officials appointed him this summer to head Paint Branch High School, where he would earn more money and oversee a larger staff.
Outrage following his promotion caused Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) to hire a law firm to investigate whether allegations against Beidleman were looked into prior to his promotion. The Montgomery County Office of Inspector General also investigated events surrounding Beidelman.
Both reports raised serious concerns about the way Beidleman was promoted and how complaints were handled.
