Incidents of hate, antisemitism, and racism in the county school system increased three-fold during 2023. According to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), more than one incident occurred per day.
On April 27, MCPS Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight announced new steps the school system will take to respond to the increased incidents.
After McKnight’s address, MCM spoke with community advocates about how the rise in hate is affecting young people.
