On Jan. 21, a shooting at Magruder High School left a 15-year-old student in critical condition. A Magruder student, who was 17 years old at the time, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the crime last Thursday.
Police, county and school officials addressed the media after the shooting in January.
The shooting, along with other incidents of school violence, prompted Montgomery County Public Schools officials to establish an updated school officer model, called the “Community Engagement Officer (CEO) 2.0 Program.”
