Most of the state of Maryland, including Montgomery County, is under a tornado watch until 6 p.m. Monday. The National Weather Service advises residents to be alert for rapidly changing weather conditions and to take shelter if a warning is issued.
The NWS issues a watch when weather conditions may produce a severe, life-threatening weather event.
