As of Sunday, the county police department’s Holiday Alcohol Task Force arrested a total of 244 people for driving under the influence (DUI) this season.
The task force began enforcement on Nov. 20, 2024, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). From Jan. 8-12, 30 people were arrested.
The 244 arrests only include those by Alcohol Holiday Task Force officers and do not factor in any additional arrests by patrol officers. The overall number of DUI arrests during the season is higher, according to police.
