All Aboard. It’s time for the annual Kensington model train show at Kensington Town Hall.
The show runs Sept. 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3710 Mitchell Street and features “O” gauge electric trains with whistles, steams, depots and bridges. They are operated by The National Capital Trackers, a local club.
The cost is $7 for adults and $2 for children, or a maximum of $15 max per family.
Orleans Express performs Sept. 9 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Matthew Dodd shares railroad songs and stories on Sept. 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Noyes Librarian Mr. Sean hosts story times Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Attendees can play I Spy Train. Completed cards will be entered for a bag of swag from Noyes Children’s Library Foundation.
Boy Scout troop #439 will sell hotdogs and snacks both days.
There also will be a train-themed StoryWalk about the book “Steam Train, Dream Train.” It begins at Town Hall and ends a Reinhard Park on Armory Lane.
