Small businesses can apply to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Dream Big Awards program to win a $25,000 cash prize. The deadline to apply is July 17.
Local small businesses are in need of support now, more than ever, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dream Big Awards present an opportunity for businesses and their owners to obtain much needed monetary aid. For the program, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Chase for Business. “The Dream Big Awards program honors the achievements of small businesses and highlights their contributions to America’s economic growth,” states the program’s website.
In order for businesses to qualify for the program, the following requirements must be met:
- Operations must take place primarily within the United States
- Businesses must have less than 250 employees or their 2018 and 2019 gross revenues must be less than $20 million
- Support their local communities, whether in-kind or through financial means
Small businesses honored with the Dream Big Small Business of the Year Award will win the $25,000 cash prize. Recipients of the Community Support and Leadership Award will win a $5,000 cash prize. Both of these awards include a one-year paid membership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The program also offers the Business Achievement Award, which does not include a monetary prize, but does include the paid U.S. Chamber of Commerce membership.
Although Montgomery County has began its economic recovery, many small businesses are still reeling from the pandemic. The Dream Big Awards could make a significant difference for some of the area’s businesses.
