U.S. Rep. April McClain Delaney, who was recently sworn in to represent Maryland District 6, will sit on the Agriculture and Science, Space and Technology committees in the new Congress.
“I am honored to serve on the Agriculture and Science, Space & Technology Committees for the 119th Congress. Through these committees, I will continue my common-ground, common-sense approach to fiercely advocate on behalf of our district’s 3,500-plus farms and drive technological advancement to create good-paying jobs and bolster America’s global competitiveness,” she said in a news release.
“As the daughter of a farming family, I deeply understand the challenges that lie ahead for our farmers and agricultural sector. With the Farm Bill on the horizon, I look forward to working with Maryland farmers and agricultural interests to ensure we deliver the tools–including cutting-edge technology–they need to stock America’s shelves and feed our families,” she said.
She noted that National Institute of Standards and Technology and other science and technology businesses are located in her district.
“Through the work of this committee, I will work to empower our engineers, scientists and changemakers to build a brighter, safer, and more inclusive future,” she said.
