The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) will host an in-person open house on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Facility. Prospective undergraduate and graduate students, along with their families and supporters, are invited to attend.
Attendees can meet program advisors and explore degree options. They will receive personalized guidance on admissions and scholarship opportunities. Representatives from career-focused degree programs will be available to discuss academic pathways. Special transfer options for local high school and community college students will also be covered.
USG is a transfer-only campus for undergraduate students. Applicants must have approximately 60 college credits to enter a program. The open house is especially beneficial for community college students and those preparing to transfer from four-year institutions. It also supports individuals returning to school after a break.
Visitors can learn about student life and available support services. They will also discover the “Hire U” program, which prepares students for careers. The event features on-site application opportunities and fee waivers for select programs. A fun zone with games, snacks, and activities will be available for all ages.
Attendees will have the chance to win raffles. Prizes include two $500 scholarships and USG swag packs.
Parking is free in the Traville Gateway Garage, Shady Grove Garage, and Lot 2. The event takes place at 9631 Gudelsky Drive in Rockville.
