The Montgomery County Police Department continues to investigate the undetermined death of a man whose body was found in the Wet Bottom area of the Potomac River on Tuesday.
On Thursday, police identified the man as 30-year-old Ankit Kumar of McLean, Virginia.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, a resident who was kayaking called 911 after discovering Kumar’s body shortly after 7 p.m. in the Wet Bottom area of the river -which is located south of Great Falls.
MCPD detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kumar’s death. Kumar’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. The results are pending.
