Darnestown’s Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana was ranked the 23rd best pizzeria in the United States by 50 Top Pizza — a pizza evaluation site run by Italian experts.
Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana was the only Maryland pizzeria to make the list. Una Pizza Napoletana in New York was ranked the best pizzeria in the U.S.
This is not the first time Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana has made the 50 Top Pizza list. In 2022, the restaurant was ranked 25th. It also routinely lands on The Washington Post and Washingtonian’s Best Pizza lists, according to a Patch article.
Located at 12207 Darnestown Road, the restaurant is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. until the pizza dough runs out.
Chef and owner Tony Conte “brings his community its own source for authentic Naples pizza,” according to the restaurant’s website. Visit Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana’s website to learn more about the restaurant and find its menu.
Washington, D.C.’s Slice & Pie and Arlington’s A Modo Mio also made the 50 Top Pizza list, ranked 41st and 48th respectively.
Congratulations to Gaithersburg's own Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana for being named one of the finest places for pizza in all of the United States by Italian experts.
