Veterans from around the country golfed at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda as part of a program connecting veterans with the sport.
Monday’s event was the culmination of the 2023 PGA HOPE National Golf and Wellness Week.
PGA HOPE is a national program for veterans and active-duty military to help their well-being through golf.
The Department of Veterans Affairs can actually prescribe a PGA HOPE clinic to a veteran, said PGA of America Vice President Don Rea. Golf professionals instructing the program are trained in adaptive golf.
The 20 veterans participating will become PGA HOPE Ambassadors and will represent the program back in their home communities.
