Recent strong storms in the region have caused damage to homes and businesses. Montgomery County was warned of a potential tornado that could hit the area on Monday, Aug. 7 but fortunately for residents, it did not happen.
These storms are not only scary at the moment, but also leave lasting damage. In 2021, Statista reported that tornadoes caused over $200 million in damages across the United States.
For families and business owners, the implications of a storm can reach far beyond the costs of one night. In order to help educate the community, the Maryland Insurance Administration will host its Virtual Disaster Center, an open Zoom, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. designed to help with insurance-related issues due to recent storms.
Callers can either log into Zoom through the QR code located at the Twitter handle @ReadyMontgomery or dial in to the number (646) 828-7666.
📢 The @MD_Insurance Admin will open its Virtual Disaster Center, TODAY at 12-2 PM & 5-7 PM, to help with insurance-related issues from severe weather events that recently impacted #Maryland.
