Gov. Larry Hogan will provide an update on the state’s COVID-19 surge 3 p.m. on Thursday. Hogan’s briefing comes a day after leaders from Maryland’s nine largest jurisdictions met about imposing tighter coronavirus restrictions.

Maryland and Montgomery County recorded their second highest surge of new coronavirus cases Thursday. Hospital bed occupancy in Montgomery County has surpassed 80%.
