County residents who don’t want to watch Thursday night’s first presidential debate at home or would rather not trek to D.C., have a few local spots to choose from.
The Upcounty Democrats will convene at South House Garden, located at 317 E Diamond Ave. in Gaithersburg, for a watch party. The event will begin at 8:30 p.m., but the restaurant will be closing the kitchen at 9 p.m,, so be sure to arrive early so you can order food before the debate begins. Another gathering will take place at Los Chorros in Wheaton. It is being hosted by the Montgomery County Democratic Party and special guests Sen. Jeff Waldstreicher and Del. Jheanelle Wilkins, Chair of the Maryland Legislative Black Caucus, will join attendees. The watch party will begin at 8:15 p.m. Residents can register at bit.ly/2024debate1.
Residents can also join the Montgomery County Republican Party at the Clarksburg Tavern, located at 23315 Frederick Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871. The event will begin at 8 p.m. and they ask for people to send an RSVP to chrishekimian@cs.com to reserve a seat!
The debate will air on CNN at 9 p.m.
