The U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) begins its quest to defend their World Cup title on Friday, July 21 at 9 p.m. and a local brewery is throwing a kick-off party to help celebrate. Saints Row Brewing in Gaithersburg its hosting a free watch party for the U.S.-Vietnam game beginning at 8 p.m. There will be contests for free beer, ticket raffles, food and $5 pilsners according to a press release. Also, a halftime skills contest at 10 p.m. and raffle winners to be announced at 10:45 p.m.
They will be raffling off vintage 1994 World Cup memorabilia, Maryland Bobcats gear and tickets, D17 Athletics merch, and having mini-goal contests to win free Saints Row beer. The space will be decorated with old World Cup memorabilia – old newspapers, trading cards, and more.
Soccer fans can watch on the massive projection screen inside or outside in the beer garden TV set-up. Saints Row is also dropping “Fifth Star,” an homage to the USWNTs quest for its fifth title, an unfiltered American Pilsner to celebrate the kick-off. Saints Row will have beer specials and stein pours for the game.
