Famed journalist Carl Bernstein returned to Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring to speak to students at his alma mater.
Bernstein, working with his Washington Post colleague Bob Woodward, exposed the Watergate scandal in the 1970s that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
On Thursday, Bernstein spoke to journalism students about his groundbreaking reporting as well as his time at Blair, and offered his advice to the aspiring journalists. He also talked about his recently-released book, “Chasing History: A Kid in the Newsroom.”
Now, Bernstein lives in New York most of the time. He said his experience at Blair was formative in his life.
“I love being here, it’s emotional,” Bernstein told MyMCM.
The conversation was organized by senior living community The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center, which is hosting Bernstein for a separate event.
