Scott Fitzgerald’s Rockville: Rockville in the 1920s: Eileen McGuckian, author of six publications about Rockville history, is this month’s speaker in the October installment of the Peerless Rockville and Glenview Mansion Speaker Series. McGuckian will talk about F. Scott Fitzgerald and his relationship to Rockville in the 1920s. India.Arie: Four-time Grammy-winning artist India.Arie is coming to Strathmore on Friday. Oct. 11 for The Worthy Tour. The R&B singer made a comeback this year with her first full-length album in five years, Worthy. India was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2010. 22nd Bethesda Row Arts Festival: Come see Bethesda Row’s Arts and Entertainment District turn into an outdoor arts festival this weekend. More than 200 artists will be featured. The festival is two days long. It runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 12 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 13 at 4827 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda. Click here for more information. Free.
Kentlands Oktoberfest: The 28th Annual Kentlands Oktoberfest is coming Sunday, Oct. 13. The event features German performances, horse-drawn wagon rides, apple cider pressing demonstrations, and other family activities. Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra 2019: The Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra debuted at Carnegie Hall in 2012. The New York-based group has performed worldwide ever since, and is coming to Strathmore at 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda.
