With December here it’s time to finally put away the Halloween decorations (if not already done so) and take out the wintery lights. Here are a few events to look forward to this weekend that’ll help kickstart the holiday season.
The City of Gaithersburg hosts its annual Jingle Jubilee on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 3:30-6 p.m. A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at the Concert Pavilion in Olde Towne and the event is free.
Look for festive lights, different holiday characters to take pictures with, music, and food. Kids will also have the chance to write a letter to Santa.
The City also admits visitors to its Winter Lights Festival from now until Dec. 31. View more than 450 illuminated displays set up across 3.5 miles of Seneca Creek State Park roadways. More information can be found here.
We are just 2 days away from the opening of this year's Winter Lights Festival!🎄🎅⛄

The Town of Poolesville will also be having its own tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3 at the Whalen Commons from 6-8 p.m.
The Poolesville United Methodist Church will be caroling and there will be free ice carving demonstrations. Kids will also be able to write to Santa, who is planning to make a surprise appearance atop a fire truck. Costumed holiday characters such as Frosty the Snowman and the Gingerbread Man will make appearances as well.
