1. Lancaster Dutch Market Chicken BBQ: The Lancaster County Dutch Market in Germantown is hosting their outdoor chicken barbecue on Thursday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, June 17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to their website.
2. Opening Reception at Sandy Spring Museum Exhibit: The Sandy Spring Museum is hosting the opening reception for Space, a group exhibition that examines the concept of space from different angles, on Friday, June 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. Those interested must register for a free ticket.
3. Drag Queen Story Hour: Brookside Gardens, in partnership with Drag Queen Story Hour of Montgomery County is hosting their monthly Drag Queen Story Hour on Saturday, June 18, from 10 to 11 a.m.
4. Silver Spring Blues Festival: Silver Spring Town Center Inc. is hosting the 13th Annual Silver Spring Blues Festival on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The festival features all-day music and is free to the public.

5. Juneteenth – Freedom at the Rock: The Black Rock Center for the Arts is hosting Montgomery County’s Juneteenth celebration this year on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Activities will include historical learning experiences, music, art and food trucks.
6. Josiah Henson Birthday Celebration: Montgomery Parks is hosting a free celebration for the birthday of Rev. Josiah Henson at Josiah Henson Museum and Park on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Josiah Henson was born 233 years ago on this day in 1789. Happy birthday, Reverend Henson!

7. Juneteenth Black Business Expo: The Extraordinary Investment Group is hosting the Second Juneteenth Black Business Expo on Saturday, June 18, from 12 to 6 p.m. to celebrate Black owned vendors and businesses. The event will include live performances, music, food and kid’s entertainment, according to the event page.
8. Juneteenth Celebration Gaithersburg: The Gaithersburg Community Museum is hosting a Juneteenth celebration on Sunday, June 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

9. Father’s Day Cultural Festival and Bazaar: Ambassel Records, in partnership with The Macedonians Humanitarian Association, is hosting a celebration of Fathers Day in Silver Spring on Sunday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature over 40 vendor booths, a DJ, cultural performances and more, according to the event website.
