Montgomery County Government Holiday Schedule
Here’s the holiday schedule for the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 4:
- County Offices – closed.
- MC 311 – closed.
- State offices and courts – closed.
- State Motor Vehicle Administration offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations – closed.
- Libraries – closed.
- County Alcohol Beverage Services – all stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- County-operated COVID-19 vaccination and testing centers – closed.
- Department of Permitting Services – closed.
- Ride On – will operate on a Sunday schedule. All schedules may be viewed online at rideonbus.com
- Ride On extRa and Flex – not in service
- Ride On Flash – the Orange Route will operate on a weekend schedule. The Blue Route will not be in service.
- MARC Train and Commuter Bus – no service
- TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter store – closed.
- Metrorail – will operate on a Sunday holiday schedule, with service from 7 a.m. to midnight. The information is available at www.wmata.com
- Metrobus – will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free.
- County-provided trash and recycling collections will not be made on Labor Day, Sept. 4. Collections will slide one day during the week, with the last pickup on Saturday, Sept. 9.
- Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center — closed.
- County outdoor aquatic facilities will be open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-6 p.m., with the exception of the Upper County outdoor pool which is closed for the season. Indoor aquatic facilities will close at 6 p.m., with the exception of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center which is closed all day.
- Community recreation centers – closed.
- Senior centers – closed.

City of Gaithersburg Holiday Schedule
Most city facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day.
- The Miniature Golf Course will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Water Park will open from noon to 5 p.m. for City of Gaithersburg residents and aquatics members only.
- The Community Museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Police Department Administrative Offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The regular Mayor and City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
- The collection of recycled materials for residents whose regular recycling day is Monday, Sept. 4, will be collected the preceding Saturday, Sept. 2. On-demand bulk pick up for residents whose regular recycling day is Monday, Sept. 4, will be unavailable.
In observance of Labor Day, City offices & most facilities will be closed on September 4 /w the following exceptions

City of Rockville Holiday Schedule
Most city facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day.
- City Hall – closed.
- Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers – closed.
- Rockville Senior Center – closed.
- Croydon Creek Nature Center – closed.
- Glenview Mansion and F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre – closed.
- Rockville Skate Park – closed.
- Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open. For individual swim and fitness center facility hours, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter.
- Recycling, trash and yard waste collection will occur one day later than usual throughout the week. For more information on holiday collection schedules, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/300/Recycling-Trash-Yard-Waste or call 240-314-8568.
- Parking will be free at city-owned meters.
