A 63-year-old White Oak man has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault in the murder of a young woman May 11.
Biet Van Tran, of the 900 block of Balmoral Drive in White Oak, is being held without bond. His preliminary hearing is set for July 10 in District Court in Rockville.

Montgomery County Police received a call about a stabbing inside a home on Balmoral Drive. When they arrived, police found two female and one male, all who had been injured.
Tran was located at the scene and arrested, according to police.
The 19-year-old female victim was declared dead at the scene. The second female victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel at the scene treated the male victim for his injuries.
According to police, the three victims are from out of state and had been staying at that residence for the past few days.
Investigators are working to locate the homicide victim’s family members. Her identity will be released once her family has been notified.
