Whitman’s run to a state title came to an abrupt halt Saturday night with a 74-49 loss to Frederick at the Xfinity Center in College Park in the Maryland 4A state championship game. The Vikings advanced to the title game with a buzzer-beating three pointer Wednesday night to beat Richard Montgomery.
The Vikings (21-6) were led by Titian DeRosa’s 20 points. The difference in the game was Frederick’s (24-4) outside shooting. The Cadets hit 12 three-pointers.
