Winter Lights Festival Returns to Gaithersburg for 29th Season

Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival begins Friday, Nov. 29, celebrating its 29th season with stunning illuminated displays.

The 3.5-mile drive through Seneca Creek State Park features over 450 glowing attractions, including Winter Woods, Mermaid Lagoon, and a Fairytale Castle.

The festival runs nightly through Dec. 31, with hours 6–9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 6–10 p.m. Friday–Saturday. The event closes on Christmas Day.

Tickets cost $15 per car Monday–Thursday and $25 Friday–Sunday. Tickets must be purchased in advance online for a specific date and will not be available at the admission booth. Exchanges are available in advance.

Seneca Creek State Park is at 11950 Clopper Road.
