Woman Attacked By Her Own Dog in Takoma Park

An adult female was attacked by one of her three dogs as she tried to break up a fight between them.

According to Takoma Park Police, the woman was walking her dogs in the 8300 block of Roanoke Avenue when one of the dogs turned on her.

A nearby resident heard the woman’s screams and rushed over. Police said the witness saw the woman being dragged by the aggressive dog and heard her pleas for help.

The dog then began to charge at him, and the neighbor discharged a weapon, striking the dog twice.

Police called the neighbor’s actions self-defense.

The woman was transported to a local hospital. The dog succumbed to its injuries.
