A woman has been arrested and charged for stabbing a man in the area outside of the Wheaton Metro Station last week.
Montgomery County Police say 22-year-old Nelly Moore of Gaithersburg faces assault-related charges for the Nov. 1 stabbing of an adult male. Detectives do not believe that Moore knew the victim.
According to an MCPD press release, officers responded to the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton around 7 p.m., where they located the victim suffering from a stab wound to his leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
After speaking with witnesses, responding officers observed Moore fleeing the area and began pursuing her on foot. A short time later, officers located and arrested Moore near the metro station.
According to police, an investigation determined that Moore and the victim were involved in an altercation before the stabbing.
Moore was transported to the Central Processing Unit and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
