The 2023 Women’s Legislative Briefing takes place on Sunday, Jan 29 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and registration is underway. The 43rd annual briefing will center on women and protecting democracy. Five panels will discuss Women Who Empower Through Advocacy; Empowerment Through Health, Safety, Economic Justice, and Education.
The Montgomery County Commission for Women coordinates the meeting annually to inform residents about legislative proposals before local, state and national legislative bodies that address issues of concern to women. The commission’s mission is to advance women’s rights. Their primary focus is to identify inequities and to provide recommendations for remedies.
Tickets are available online. An early bird discount is available until Jan. 27 for $23 per ticket. After Jan. 27, the cost is $30.
The is an “Emerging Leaders” track for students in grades 6-12 that runs concurrently with the adult sessions. Student tickets cost $5.
