Crews will continue to address tree damage from recent storms for at least another week.
The county’s transportation department has received more than 1,400 tree-related requests, per a Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) newsletter. Requests relate to issues like hanging limbs, damaged trees, blocked signals and signs. 90% of the work is done.
MCDOT tells residents to report online or call 311 if they see a tree or debris blocking a road or sidewalk.
Recent severe weather left damage across the county. Over the weekend of July 28, the county handled more than 3,000 emergency calls on Friday and Saturday amid thunderstorms.
And after storms Monday this week, some residents were affected by power outages on Tuesday. A hazardous weather outlook, tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning were in effect in the county.
