A jury found 34-year-old Chevy Chase native George Huguely V civilly liable on May 2 for killing his girlfriend Yeardley Love in 2010.
Huguely must pay both Yeardley’s sister, Lexi Love Hodges, and their mother, Sharon Love, $7.5 million in compensation, according to a report by the AP. The report also notes how this suit is intended to hold Huguely liable for Yeardley’s death.
Huguely was convicted of second-degree murder in 2012 and currently serving a 23-year prison sentence. He and Love were in a two-year, off-and-on relationship before Yeardley was found dead in her off campus apartment on May 3,2010, according to WTOP Virginia.
